We would like to brag and crow a bit about one of our own!
USA Today recently put out a list of the Top 10 corn mazes across the United States. The Farmstead of Boise, Idaho was #1 on their list! We profiled owner Jim Lowe on our Kiss My Tractor in October, 2013.
This year’s corn maze theme is “Never Grow Up,” with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell carved out across 18 acres of corn. And of course there are tons of other great activities to enjoy, like a corn pit, petting zoo, hay wagon rides, storytelling, and more! The maze even gets haunted after dark on the weekends, for those visitors who dare to enter the Field of Screams!
The Lowes are dedicated not only to putting on a great harvest festival for the Treasure Valley, but also to promoting agriculture. They host thousands of preschool and elementary kids each fall, and start each field trip session with a lesson on the importance of agriculture. The Farmstead is a fun introduction to farming and agriculture for many of these children.
Congratulations to The Farmstead for putting on such a great event! We’re lucky to have you right here in the Treasure Valley!
