Tribute to Normal Borlaug

Norman Borlaug, “The Father of the Green Revolution” is credited with saving over 1 billion people from starvation. March 25th, 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of his birth. Dr. Borlaug poignantly said in his 1970 Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, “I am acutely conscious of the fact that I am but one member of that vast army (of hunger fighters) and so I want to share not only the present honor but also the future obligations with all my companions in arms, for the Green Revolution has not yet been won.”
